The Snug

Cross a cozy library and a mid-century modern ski lodge, and you have The Snug. The Pacific Heights bar is not that snug—it’s a two-level space with ample seating, funky geometric nooks, and a sizable sidewalk parklet. So no need to worry about smelling your neighbor’s breath or getting elbowed in the cheek at the bar. The cocktails are also excellent, like the deceivingly strong paloma slushy and a nitrogen-carbonated margarita. And above-average bar food, ranging from tater tots to popcorn chicken to double smash cheeseburgers, is here if you need sustenance. Post up at a bar stool on the second floor, so you can try to read the lips of the low-stakes first dates happening down below.
