The Best Things To Eat At Truist Park

If the stadium keeps this up, eating will become our new national pastime.

Baseball is changing. But if you think it’s only pitch clocks, manager challenges, and shift rules that are taking some time to get used to, wait until you see all the new culinary offerings at the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park. Concession stands slice roasted turkey and flip gourmet burgers on the grill before your eyes while innovative twists on stadium staples can be purchased on the suite level. Sure, you can still order peanuts and get Cracker Jack almost anywhere, but after seeing some fan a row over with any of these five items, we doubt you’ll ever want to again.

Holeman + Finch Burger

The Original Burger | Holeman + Finch

Location: Sections 335, 337 and a full H+F restaurant at the Chophouse Gate

We don’t know what’s more impressive about the H+F stands inside the ballpark, seeing the ground beef being smashed and flipped on a sizzling grill or having the finished product really taste like the burgers we’ve come to obsess over at H+F’s full Ponce City Market and Colony Square locations. Not sure. All we know for certain is that these delicious double patties topped with pickles, red onions, and American cheese are worth whatever wait you encounter in the early innings of the game.

The Submarine Sandwich | The Carvery

Location: Section 112

Prepare for a few stares if you take this 3-foot-long submarine sandwich from The Carvery back to your seat. It’s a whole foot longer than the World Series trophy if it was laying on its side (and we’ll petition to do a comparison photo when the Braves win it all this year). Tasty house-smoked turkey is carved fresh to order and then topped with bacon, lettuce, avocado crema, Red Dragon cheese sauce, and the best crispy fried green tomatoes, which hit it out of the park on their own. And it’s piled so high, you may have to unhinge your jaws just to take a bite. This massive sub could probably feed the entire Braves starting lineup, so snag it if you have some fellow fans to help you carry it.

The Closer | The Market

Location: Section 343

The ingredients in The Closer sound like something you’d come up with in the ninth inning after draining one too many beer bats (IYKYK). “You know what we could really go for?,” you garble to the half-listening fan next to you, “an all-beef hot dog enclosed in creamy mozzarella-whipped potatoes and then deep fried and drizzled with spicy mayo.” The mad scientist chef who came up with this creation deserves the Cy Young Award for throwing this culinary treat our way. And somehow the perfectly crispy exterior holds up under a heat lamp at the self-service market. The Closer has earned its name and ensures you leave the ballpark with a win.

Smokey Q Baseball Helmet Nachos

Location: Section 329

We admit if it wasn’t for our cheesy need for a game souvenir, we’d probably overlook the baseball helmet nacho bowl—especially since the stand is the only quick-service stall in the stadium with a more than a seven-minute wait. And it’s worth it. Yes, they're pretty standard concession stand-quality tortilla chips drenched in an ordinary queso. But the flavors really burst with a sweet, shredded barbecue brisket and drizzles of crema and a tangy red sauce.

Corn Ribs

Corn Ribs

Location: Xfinity Club

If you’re not prepared, expect a few plot twists after ordering these corn strips, which are cut lengthwise from the whole cob. Spoiler alert—they’re breaded and lightly fried and not the boring steamed or boiled corn moment you may be expecting. Then there’s the surprisingly loud citrus seasoning, which is balanced with a smooth avocado crema. It’s like the flavors of elote meeting a lemon pepper wing then dunking itself in some guac. And lastly, we just hope you’re smarter than us and bite around the hard cob part, which isn’t completely cut off.
