PappaRich

Of all the Malaysian options in Flushing, PappaRich is where we'd go for a rowdy food rager. The expansive restaurant is on the second floor of a mall, with outdoor seating on a terrace overlooking busy downtown Flushing. It's a bright space, full of tables and booths for big groups, all outfitted with buzzers for when you need a refill on your lychee soda. The food here doesn’t have the homecooked quality of some other spots, but their versions of the classics—flaky roti canai, mixed satay, and seafood curry laksa—are guaranteed hits if you’re with a bunch of people who are overwhelmed by the options. They don’t serve alcohol, so if you’re wondering what has everyone around you riled up, it’s that salted egg yolk shrimp. Get some.
