Ice Cream Union

Everything about Ice Cream Union feels very high-end and meticulous, with its bright blue and yellow branding the only thing signalling this isn’t just an empty archway in Bermondsey. Space age-looking drums hold excellent, fresh ice cream, and ingredients are caramelised, pastes made, and coffees roasted in-house—giving this spot something of a laboratory feel. The takeaway place is conveniently positioned at the beginning of the Bermondsey beer mile, if you’re starting from the end furthest from London Bridge. If you didn’t think beer and ice cream went together, you’ve clearly never had a cornflake and coffee-flavoured scoop followed by a pale ale. Breakfast of champions.

Gelupo in Soho does the best ice cream in London, with fantastic seasonal flavours. They also serve great coffee, cocktails, and biscotti.
